Race Day Information
Gates are open all night. fee: $10 unless otherwise advertised. Children seven years and under are free. We do not have credit card machines at the gate, please have cash ready for your gate fee.
Camping is FREE! Quiet hours from 10PM - 7AM. Loud generators should be insulated. All generators must have sound control. Bathrooms and showers are available to the public. We try to maintain a PG rating here at Motosports Park. Thanks in advance for respecting the other patrons of the park.
Pit Bikes - If you have more gray hair than the owner (which is getting easier by the year!) you can operate a pit bike. Speed limit is 5mph. The owner of any pit vehicle is responsible for its use at all times. Pit Bike Stupidity regardless of hair color is not allowed. At the staff's discretion your pit bike may be impounded for the duration of the event or in special cases the owner of the vehicle may be disqualified from the days events and removed from park property. Impounded vehicles will be turned over to the owner at the end of the event. Safety is our main goal. Pit bike riding can be a lot of fun, but not in the pits on race day.
Pets must be leashed at all times.
Motor homes are welcome. We have expanded our parking to accommodate larger vehicles. At this time we offer no power, water, or sewer hookups. There is water available at our bike wash.
Tracks - Motosports Park offers two different race tracks. The original "Legacy" track and the new "Hilltop" track. The Legacy track is our original MX course which started humbly in 1969. It is a natural terrain track with wood chips and man-made obstacles. The Hilltop track is a new addition. Built in 2004 it was created to cater to ATV and beginner racers. The Hilltop track is a moto-staduim layout with a harder surface and more man made obstacles. As we all know prime conditions for a motorcycle are not very good for ATV's and vice versa. By giving the two styles their own course we have improved conditions for everyone. The bonus is with two tracks running at the same time, the race day moves along twice as fast! 2005 was our first season racing the new Hilltop track. Our average finish times for the 2005 and 2006 seasons were 1:00pm for the Hilltop track and 4:00pm for the Legacy track. A vast improvement from 2004. The only negative in this setup is occasionally young racers and parents will be racing at the same time. Because of the time advantage we can typically change up the program to work around these problems. Make sure to check in with the starter during practice if you foresee any problems with the timing of motos.
* Our hilltop track was completely rebuilt for our 2007 Illinois State Championship event with the help of the Kelsey family and DHV Racing. It is still beginner friendly but more of a Stadium layout. By popular demand we have left the track in its current form.
Sign-up opens at 7:00am and ends at 9:00am. Late signup is allowed, but you will miss practice. Although not all tracks you may attend follow these AMA rules, Motosports Park is AMA sanctioned and follows them without exception.
